RFID technology (Radio-Frequency Identification) at 125 kHz is an automatic identification system that uses radio waves at a frequency of 125 kilohertz to communicate between an RFID tag and an RFID reader. These tags consist of a microchip and an antenna and can be active or passive.

When the RFID reader sends out a radio signal, the tag, if within range, responds by transmitting the data stored in its microchip. This data may include a unique identification code or other information related to the object or product to which the tag is attached.

125 kHz RFID technology is used in a wide range of applications, such as access control, inventory tracking, animal identification, and more. Thanks to its ability to enable automatic identification and tracking without the need for line-of-sight or physical contact, RFID has found use in various industrial and commercial sectors.
