How many "minutiae" are necessary to a secure comparison?

A complete fingerprint is formed by up to 100 "minutiae”. The Veridicom  sensor that  iGuard uses, detects about 20 to 30. It is  well-known ,though, that the European courts accept as a convinced and an unambiguous identification of an imprint, positive comparisons of 12 minutiae.
